♫ Tuesday Tuneage ♫

The first time I moved away from my family home was in 2000. I was moving to Dundee and on the way down with all my belongings I discovered David Gray's White Ladder album, which was to become the soundtrack to my first few years there. It's also one of the only albums that I have owned where I love every single song (the 10 track version).

This week I'm moving out again so it seems fitting to share this album with you. Listening back to it now all the memories come flooding back and it still totally moves me.

Babylon was the first song I heard and I instantly loved it. I was in the car with my sister on moving day as my parents followed on.  It was so exciting, this whole new adventure and I'd never been surer of anything else in my life.

Please Forgive Me reminds me of someone special. Someone that I seriously fell, head-over-heels, truly, madly, deeply for.

And Say Hello Wave Goodbye reminds me of how I felt when it all went horribly wrong.

My Oh My reminds me of how hard-hearted I became for a long time.

But This Year's Love reminds me of hopeful romantic encounters after that.

It's not all doom and gloom (although it maybe sounds it)! This album is full of beautifully written, heartfelt songs and also reminds me that I had the most amazing time in Dundee.

I can't wait to see what this next move brings!

♥ This Week's Loves ♥

1. The main thing I love this week is, after month's of scrimping and saving, I finally have the full deposit for my flat! I'm actually pretty proud of myself for working extra jobs and saving hard, but it was all worth it!

2. My thrifty behaviour paid off cos I got to guest post in Donna at Polkadot Pink's How To eBay series! I talk about my tips for buying and selling vintage on eBay right here.

3. I love doing nice things for people, it just makes you feel good! This week one of my friends was having a tough time, so I went round with frozen yogurt and sunflowers to cheer her up.

4. Calzone Legume from Bella Italia is so big but so delicious!

5. Although I don't get the keys until Friday I've been having a great time window shopping for my new home! If I see something I take a photo with my phone so I don't forget about it.

6. I couldn't resist buying this cow wind-up torch though, it was in the sale for £2! Bargain!

7. I spent Sunday watching three films. The first was We're The Millers and it was hilarious (and I don't say that about films often!). Everyone in it was great, but I love Jason Sudeikis in EVERYTHING!

8. Next up was Elysium, which had lots of action, but was also a good story showing the lengths people will go to when pushed.

9. And finally 2 Guns. Also very, very funny with lots of punch-ups, car chases and shoot-outs. Mark Wahlberg is ace, can't wait to see Pain & Gain too!

Dundee Tattoo Convention 2013

Tattoo by Mr Greg

I've been considering getting a new tattoo quite a lot over the last few months, but nothing has really stood out for me and I know how important it is to be totally sure before you're permanently inked.

I have three tattoos at the moment. The first one, which I got when I was 17, has faded quite a lot (cos that was quite a long time ago!) and although I still like it, I think I need to do something with it.

So last weekend I headed down to the Dundee Tattoo Convention for some ideas and to meet some artists.

It was a great event with over 20 studios and loads of artists there, most of them buzzing away as they worked on clients and I saw lots of brilliant tattoos, here are my favourites:

 Scott, Studio 52

 Stevo, Ink Minx

And my absolute favourite, Lee of Treble 2

Dawgs Day Out

This weekend, clan McK trooped over to Hazlehead Park in Aberdeen for the DAWGS Family Day Out!

D.A.W.G.S (Dog Action Working Group Scotland) is a local charity that rehomes dogs which are unwanted or whose owners are unable to look after them anymore.

We started off with a picnic, then checked out the stalls and dog competitions. We all love dogs, so it was great to see so many different breeds and sizes, and we all picked the ones we'd like to take home!

Want to see some doggies? Course you do! :)

PS Remember if you'd like to win a day out with your family, friends or dog, enter my giveaway, which ends today (Tues 20th August).

♫ Tuesday Tuneage ♫

I first saw Alabama Shakes on Later...With Jools Holland, which is always a great place to find brilliant bands that you weren't aware of.

This is the song that grabbed my attention. I love their sound and I love Brittany's voice. I sing along in the car, pretending I can sing just like her, but I couldn't be further from it!

Alabama Shakes - Hold On

♥ This Week's Loves ♥

1. Bondathon update - Loved Licence To Kill, one of my favourites so far, and love Pierce Brosnan as Bond, he's in my top three!

2. Got me a new geeky mousemat for work :) It's holographic, making it hard to photograph, but cool to look at!

3. Clearing out my flat and I found my glass mug and made an awesome hot chocolate with skooshy cream and chocolate drops. Yum!

4. Dundee Tattoo Convention as awesome. I got some ideas, spoke to some great artists and saw some brilliant work, and I'll be posting my highlights soon!

5. I saw Kick-Ass 2. Chloë Grace Moretz is ridiculously cool. In Kick-Ass she's cool. In every other thing I've seen her in, she's cool. I heard an interview with her on the radio the other day and guess what? Cool.

6. I bought a couple of nail polishes and I've been wearing this one ever since. It's Rimmel 60 Seconds in Sky High.

7. Candy floss is pure sugar loveliness.

8. We went to a family day out for a local dog charity.  So many lovely doggies...so little space in the car :) More pics coming soon!

9. Best buy of the week was this £6 My Little Pony t-shirt from Primark. It's so cool, I bet Chloë Moretz has one...
